Announcements have been ordered, pictures have been taken...

I'm about to graduate! The end is finally near. I had a little photo-shoot in Old Town Spring this weekend with a friend (who, by the way, takes great pictures!). It was hilarious to hear some people saying "Awh, look honey, that girl is taking her Senior pictures!" Yes, that was true. Except they were thinking highschool senior. And not only am I a college senior, but an old one at that- I'm graduating with girls who are 4 years younger than me! Dang that young, vibrant skin, haha (I'm so kidding). Awh well, they say I'll appreciate it when I'm older. Here are a couple pictures:

These aren't the absolute greatest ones, because I'm saving those for the announcements!

Also, over the weekend my life-long friend, Beka, had her little boy. Jackson Sean Conley entered the world at a whoppin' 7lbs 9.9oz! Unfortunately I have no pictures to post of this incredible event. I was crying like a baby the whole time I was at the hospital and forgot I even had a camera. Oops. He is absolutely adorable and I cannot to spend my Friday off of school holding that little bundle of joy :)

Have a great rest-of-the-week!

I'm alive. Barely.

Just wanted to let you know, I have not fallen off the face of the Earth. It's just been busy since Spring Break. I typed up a nice, big blog about a little road trip we took and then the computer wasn't uploading my pictures, so I have that saved to post as soon as I can since the picture thing is working again. I say it's working, but I can't rotate my picture, haha. So just lean your precious heads to the right to check this out.
I have influenced my sister-in-law. She is now the proud owner of Rollerblades! She just couldn't take it any more. She had watched me in envy long enough as I bladed past her and Carter on their bikes. So Friday night she broke down (and asked my brother for permission, haha) and we took a trip to Academy! Oh, and Sean made me get wrist guards while I was there. He's so over-protective!

I love a good deal...

If you don't shop Target, you should start. When we moved into our new house a few months ago, decorating was not a top priority- there was just too much going on. I put up the necessities and decided I would add home decor later. I guess I've just gotten used to the way the house is and decorating still has not been completed. Carter had chosen a monkey/jungle theme for his bathroom. I got the major stuff for it when we moved in- shower curtain and hooks, soap dispenser, toothbrush holder- but put off other little decor until I had time to seriously shop, haha. BUT, yesterday Carter and I went to Target to spend some of Carter's birthday money (he got an Air Hog, by the way) and found some awesome stuff in their "dollar days" section (that's not really the name of the section, I just can't think of the real one at the moment). They had all sorts of monkey things for $1-2.50, no more. I got two rugs, two little wall decor plaques, a picture frame, and a mini stuffed monkey for $10! Thank you, Target! Carter's bathroom is complete! Well, except for painting the walls, which I will get to some other day :)

Rugs moved next to each other for picture purposes only. I did not just throw them in random places on the bathroom floor. Don't worry, Mom, you've taught me better than that!

Guess what I got today???

ROLLERBLADES!!! The trip to Academy this morning was meant for purchasing the hubby new work boots, but after Carter found himself some new shoes too, I just felt plain ol' left out. I've been saying I wanted Rollerblades for a long time, but I don't think Sean has been taking me seriously. Even when I started to walk down the skating aisle today, he was like "Really? I mean, you're not worried about busting it? Should we get safety gear too??" Hah, he hasn't seen me do this before.

I'm no professional, but I did spend years trying to be as good as my little brother, the in-line hockey player. I've got plenty of tricks under my belt :)
So here are my new blades, haha. I was so excited to use them that I put them on as soon as we got home and took off for a couple of laps around the block. The fact that it was raining didn't phase me a bit!

I'm gonna have so much FUN with these!

Oops, I did it again...

I slacked on my blog, got busy with life, I'm sorry, baby! ((Sing with me!))

Hahaha, can you believe I just did that?!? I am so sorry. If you didn't know before, you know now- I'm a total cheeseball.

I talked to my dear friend Carolyn yesterday who is miles and miles away, and she reprimanded me on the lack of blogging. For people like her, this is the only way to see what's going on with us, and I've failed her miserably. So, lots to catch up on. Let's go!

School: I found out the results for the first $120 test I took several weeks back- I passed! I took the practice test for the second $120 test and I passed that too. Now I register for the real second test, take it, and just wait for the diploma- which I will be receiving May 15 at 2:00pm- woohoo! All major papers/etc for the semester have been turned in, and I am now working on my resume and applying for jobs. It's such a rush of emotions. I'm totally thrilled to be graduating, I'm a bit scared of the unknown- like the interview process, and I'm ever-thankful for actually making it to this point- thanks to my PARENTS, husband, encouraging friends, and my precious, little inspiration of a son. Speaking of....

Carter turned SIX years old on the 4th of March! He had his party at Pump It Up again this year. He wanted it to be a "costume party," so that's what it was. Creative kid, huh? I think so :)

After his party, Carter had his first sleepover with a friend. We didn't get home from the party till almost 9pm, so I let them stay up late- like till almost midnight! And this is what they did, all night:

More on Carter... 6 is such a funny age. I still want him to be my baby, and he is at many times, but at the same time I have pretty high expectations for the little guy. Perfect example. Wednesday morning I decide to treat him to donuts for breakfast before school. He places his order with me: one kolache and one glazed donut. I order accordingly and the drive-thru man tells me they're all out of glaze. I panicked and just told him to give me a chocolate iced instead, and almost simultaneously heard Carter begin to whimper in the backseat. I was on the phone with a teacher at a school that I would love to work at, so I just start throwing hand motions to Carter to be quiet, zip it, not now, WAIT! I pay the man and grab the donuts and as I begin to drive off the waterworks started. Carter is bawling in the backseat. He wanted donut holes, not chocolate iced. "You're crying? Really? I thought you were six!" I pulled up to the curb in front of the donut store. "Fine. Unbuckle your seatbelt, get out of your booster seat, and you march yourself in there and get what you want." Meanwhile, the person on the phone had let me go because she could tell 'I was busy'... hah. I threw a couple dollars at Carter and he went inside. As I watched him through the window, I realized how hilarious this was. I was admiring my independent little man standing in line with a bunch of adults, ready to order his own breakfast. The breakfast that he had, just minutes before, CRIED over. Six. What an age.

Well, I can't end without saying something about my husband! He's still working hard and being wonderful. Yesterday I came home from student-teaching, ever-so-glad it was Friday, and he was at the door waiting for me. He carried me (yes, literally. I know, 'gag'..haha) to our bedroom where he had laid out an awesome Vera Wang bag. I loved the bag and was admiring it, checking out how it looked on my shoulder- not even thinking there was more. Then Sean said, "Yah, but I didn't get the perfume that goes with it..." And was looking at me like 'Are you really that slow? Look IN the bag!' So I did, and low and behold- my perfume, Princess by Vera Wang. I had run out of this, my favorite perfume, months ago but didn't want to buy more because it was too expensive, as is all perfume, really. Then he took me out to dinner and let me drink one too many margaritas. As if things couldn't get any better, this morning I was woken up by the obnoxious dogs next door and decided to stumble out of bed to blog as I had promised Carolyn, haha. I went straight to the coffee pot to brew a hot cup of joe, and saw THIS!
The letter was written in his most beautiful cursive and, no surprise, made me cry. My husband just loves me and is proud of me and wants me to do whatever I want to do. I am so incredibly blessed.
One more thing to be happy about.... One of my few, greatest, most supportive friends I've ever had is PREGNANT! Congratulations to Sarah and Mike! I am so excited to be with Sarah through this journey as she was one of the only people that stood by me through mine. I love her so much and know she is going to be a fabulous mommy, and such a cute pregnant woman!
